As you probably know, a baby shower is a party or gathering held by parents, family, or friends to celebrate the upcoming arrival of a baby. Games related to the world of newborns are typically organized, and gifts are given to the parents for their little one to enjoy.
If mom doesn't have time, it's common for her best friends or closest relatives (mom, sisters, etc.) to take care of everything!
It's usually celebrated between the seventh and eighth month of pregnancy, not too close to the due date, but not too early for the bump to show (especially for games!). You won't be as tired, you'll already know the baby's sex, and it'll be easier for guests to know what to buy.
Now that you know what this party means, here are the 5 best tips based on my experience (as a mom and as an event planner):
1. THE SPACE
Start by choosing the venue for the celebration. The possibilities are endless. Whether it's the comfort of the expectant parents' home or a surprise in a spacious party room... I recommend a place with enough space to play games and spend time with the group without overwhelming the expectant mother.
2. WHO TO INVITE?
As with any event you organize, you need a guest list. If the celebration isn't a surprise, it's best to play it safe and simply ask the mom-to-be. If it is a surprise, put yourself in the mother's shoes and try to create the guest list she would. It's probably a good idea to involve the father in this.
3. THE DECORATION
This will always depend on your tastes and the space you've chosen. For a more personalized design than the old-fashioned pink and blue, you can choose a theme for the party (Circus, Baby, Llamas, etc.). My advice: when planning and brainstorming, make sure you match the tastes of the mommy, who's the real star.

4. FOOD
Drinks and appetizers are essential at any type of party; pay attention to this detail. Something very important to keep in mind is that pregnant women can't eat everything and shouldn't consume alcoholic beverages. Forget serranito or cured meats; no sushi or undercooked food.
5. THE GAMES
It's common to prepare some fun games to add dynamism and even more enjoyment. When planning them, try to think of some that the mother will like and that she can participate in, since, just a few weeks after giving birth, freedom of movement is quite limited. I definitely recommend doing them; they get everyone involved and involved in the party.
And an extra...GIFT LIST?
Not all parents do this, but it's a good idea if you don't want to duplicate your guests' details. You can use gift registries like those on Amazon and send them.
I hope that after these tips, you have lots of ideas to enjoy your baby shower.
